Kersey, Colorado
The Kersey Post Office
When the settlement that is now Kersey was first settled, it was a spot on the main railroad line between Julesburg and La Salle named Orr. In 1896 John Kersey Painter went through the process of having the name officially changed in honor of his grandfather.
The dam at nearby Latham Reservoir broke in 1973 and a significant part of town was damaged badly in the flood.
