St. Vrain State Park

Formerly named Barbour Ponds State Recreation Area, St. Vrain State Park is a nature and people-friendly park with 50 acres of land and 80 surface acres of water spread among several ponds. Since 2006, fishing piers, trail additions and modern camping amenities have been built here. The Blue Heron Reservoir is open and there are additional hiking trails around that. Anglers have found bluegill, crappie, bass, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, carp, catfish and rainbow trout in the waters at St. Vrain State Park. On Bald Eagle Pond fishing is allowed only with artificial flies and lures, and any bass you catch must be returned to the water immediately. Trout are normally stocked in Coot, Sand Piper and Mallard Ponds in the fall.

St. Vrain State Park offers 41 electrified campsites with nearby water hydrants, and 46 campsites with full electric, water and sewer hook-ups. St. Vrain State Park is located just off Interstate 25 between Fort Collins and Denver at exit 240 (State Highway 119).
