Mead, Colorado
Downtown Mead
Mead was named for Dr. Martin Luther Mead by his son, Paul Martin Mead. It was the younger man who surveyed and platted the town in 1906. The Mead's were famous locally for their efforts with the Highland Ditch Company, one of the first reservoir-fed wide area irrigation systems in the country.
