Mountain View, Colorado

Mountain was incorporated in 1904 on part of the Berkely Annex subdivision which had been established in 1888. That subdivision was part of the Berkely Farm founded in 1879 by John Brisben Walker. The town occupies 12 square blocks and is presently in serious financial trouble, losing between six and eight thousand dollars per month starting in 2009. To counter that, the six sworn police officers on the city payroll have been very aggressive in enforcing the local traffic laws... There is the possibility that the financial problems might be resolved if the town were annexed by one of their neighbors.
