Golden Gate Canyon State Park
A winter scene in Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Golden Gate Canyon State Park encompasses more than 12,000 acres of aspen-rimmed meadows and dense forest with rocky peaks rising above. Only 30 miles from Denver, Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, snowshoers and cross-country skiers. At Panorama Point Scenic Overlook you can see up to 100 miles of the Continental Divide. With several picnic sites, stocked fishing ponds and 2 different campgrounds with electrical hook-ups and tent-only sites, there's something for everyone at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. There are also several group facilities available for hosting company picnics, family reunions and weddings. If camping isn't your thing, there are also 5 cabins, 2 yurts and several guest houses available. Winter sees quite a few ice skaters and ice fishermen on the property, and year-round camping is available at the Reverend's Ridge Campground.
