Stratton, Colorado
The American Legion Hall in Stratton
Stratton was named for successful-gold-miner-turned-philanthropist Winfield Scott Stratton (he made his money with the discovery of the Independence Lode near Victor, Colorado). The town has survived as a cattle ranching and grain farming community that also offers some excellent deer, turkey and pheasant hunting in the area.
US Highway 24 passes right through the center of Stratton and Interstate 70 is just to the south.
