Silt, Colorado

Silt prides itself on offering a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities... but access to many of them was cut off when a fully-loaded tanker truck took out the Interstate bridge over the Silt exit in July of 2009. The next year came a massive rock slide on the Interstate, cutting the western half of the state off from the eastern half. There have been a couple major wildfires since that have done the same thing: forced the closure of the highway somewhere in Garfield County.
