Marble is famous as the site of the quarry that provided the marble for monuments like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and parts of the Lincoln Memorial. The stone has been incorporated into buildings, monuments and memorials all over the United States and since the quarry was acquired by the Canadian-based dimensional stone company Polycor in 2004, the stone is being shipped and used all over the world.
