Natchez Trace Parkway and the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail are slated to run side-by-side from Natchez, Mississippi to the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee. Of the proposed 440-mile route of the National Scenic Trail, only about 62 miles are complete and available to the public. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a controlled-access two-lane highway between Natchez and Nashville that is also a designated Scenic Byway.
