Grayton Beach State Park
Grayton Beach from the sand dunes
With one of America's most beautiful and pristine white sand beaches, the more-than-2,000-acres of Grayton Beach State Park offer a beautiful setting for sunbathing, swimming and surf fishing. A boat ramp on Western Lake gives canoers and kayakers access to both freshwater and saltwater fishing in a salt marsh ecosystem. The state park also offers hikers a nature trail that winds through a coastal forest of magnolias and scrub oaks, and a bike trail that meanders for more than four miles through pine flatwoods. Overnight visitors get their choice of a full-facility campground with 34 sites or 30 three-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex cabins. Two of the cabin units are ADA accessible. Bike rentals are offered at the ranger station.
Pets on leashes are allowed in the campground and on the trails but not in the cabin area or on the beach. The main park beach and the cabin beach offer ADA access.
Grayton Beach State Park is open from 8 am to sunset, every day of the year. Grayton Beach State Park is located about halfway between Destin and Panama City on County Road 30A.
Along the northern boundary of Grayton Beach State Park is Point Washington State Forest.
