The National Forests in South Carolina have been combined administratively but still retain their separate names. Francis Marion National Forest is a single tract of land overseen by the Francis Marion Ranger District. Sumter National Forest is composed of several non-contiguous parcels, each with its own ranger district. Both forests are administered out of a single office in Columbia.
