Round Lake State Park

Round Lake State Park occupies some 142 acres surrounding Round Lake, a 58-acre "pothole" lake about 10 miles south of Sandpoint. Round Lake State Park is open year-round and offers 51 single-family campsites with modern showers and restrooms (except in the the winter), picnic tables, barbecue grills and an RV dump station. There is also an interpretive nature trail making a loop around the lake.

Round Lake was created as part of the glacial action during the last Ice Age. That means rocks, sand, marshy areas, fish, birds, reptiles, western red cedar, paper birch, tall pines, firs, hemlock, western larch, red alder, reeds, water lilies, skunk cabbage, beaver ponds, moose, whitetail deer...

Round Lake State Park also offers canoe rentals. Because the access roads are narrow, the longest trailers allowed are 24'. For boating on the lake, electric motors are allowed, but no gas. Leashed and attended pets are welcome, but no pets are allowed on the beach.
