Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness
A view at Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness
Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness is a 26,752-acre property on the northern slopes of the San Gabriel Mountains in Angeles National Forest. The wilderness is north of the Angeles Crest Highway in the Cedar Springs-Mount Islip area. South across the highway from Pleasant View Ridge is the San Gabriel Wilderness. To the southeast is Sheep Mountain Wilderness. True to its name, the high points in Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness offer excellent views of the peaks all around and the Mojave Desert basin to the north.
The countryside is rugged, the hills covered in a dense mass of chaparral with scattered stands of pines and hardwoods. There are several trails in the wilderness, among them a stretch of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.
