Big Stone Wetland Management District

Sunrise over the Big Stone Wetland Management District

Big Stone Wetland Management District oversees conservation easements in the area around Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge in west-central Minnesota.
One of the primary goals of the District is to maximize quality habitat for migratory birds while also hosting wildlife and plants. Wetland management in the area is complicated by the presence of the US Army Corps of Engineers and their efforts at flood control along the upper Minnesota River.
