Blackwater Wildlife Management Area
The Blackwater Wildlife Management Area encompasses more than 200,000 acres of Blackwater River State Forest. The property is open to the public year round but hunting occurs only during the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission designated seasons. Hunters on this property will find white-tailed deer, feral hogs, wild turkey, bobcat, otter, raccoon, opossum, beaver, armadillo, skunk, nutria, coyote and various small game. Trapping is prohibited. Camping is limited to designated campsites at Krul Lake, Karick Lake, Bear Lake, Blackwater State Park, Hurricane Lake and certain other designated spots. Some campsites require a fee.
