Ottawa National Forest is a 993,010-acre property in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The area tends to be quite wet with an annual average of more than 200 inches of snow. The northern part of the forest drains over dramatic slopes to Lake Superior. The southern part of the forest drains south and west to the Gulf of Mexico.
