Amelia Island State Park is comprised of more than 200 acres of land spanning the southern tip of Amelia Island, a barrier island just east of Jacksonville. The property is a mix of coastal maritime forest, tidal marsh and beautiful sandy beaches. Depending on the season, certain areas of the beaches and dunes may be marked off-limits in order to protect nesting birds and the places where sea turtles lay their eggs.
Kelly Seahorse Ranch is a park concessionaire that offers guided horseback tours of the park and horseback riding along the beach. Canoes and kayaks may be rented at Kayak Amelia/Long Island Outfitters, a concessionaire located on Highway A1A about six miles south of Amelia Island, between Big Talbot and Little Talbot Islands.
Amelia Island State Park is open from 8 am to sunset every day of the year. There are fees involved. Amelia Island State Park is located eight miles south of Fernandina Beach and seven miles north of Little Talbot Island State Park on State Road A1A.
Amelia Island State Park is part of the Talbot Islands State Parks group: Big Talbot Island State Park, Little Talbot Island State Park, Fort George Island Cultural State Park, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park and George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park.
