Alaska Public Lands Information Center
The Alaska Public Lands office is also known as the Anchorage Interagency Visitor Center. The Anchorage office is the primary but there are satellite offices in Fairbanks, Ketchikan and Tok Center. The Anchorage office is open most of the year Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. The door is open seven days a week from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, 9 am to 5 pm. The Fairbanks office is open 9 am to 5 pm daily, the Ketchikan office 8 am to 5 pm daily and the Tok Center office Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
These offices serve the needs of various Federal agencies operating in Alaska. Primary among those needs is the need to inform and educate the general public as to what these agencies do and where they do it. So the Alaska Public Lands Information Center is exactly that: a place where you can go and gather in-depth knowledge about the various public land programs in Alaska.
